Group Wordlists, also known as the
Iversen's Method, is a powerful but simple vocabulary learning technique.
Start by entering
5-7 words in the target language in the
'Original Words' column.
Memorize meanings of the every of these words, and
only if you memorized them all enter the translations or meanings in the
'Translations' column.
After you press
'I'm ready to recall' the
'Original Words' column will blur and you should try to recall original words by looking at the translations.
Once successful, enter the original words from memory in the 'Recall' column and press
'Check Recall'.
Average learning time for the author of this website is 5-15 minutes for a 6-7 words group.
This method is really good because you practice with the same words for enough time for them to be stored in your intermediate-term memory. This is by no means a substitution of Anki or any other SRS. It is just a way to memorize words so that you can later use Anki for its intended purpose: to recall what you have already learned. The list of learned words and phrases at the bottom of the page is made in such a way that you can easily copy the text for the front and back cards. Also you can save CSV to import it in Anki.
